UCAS holds conferences, as well as events around the UK for students and needed a way to quickly provide information to the large numbers that attend the various venues. Having worked closely with Technical Stage Services for over eight years, UCAS sought the advice of MD Dan Dawson immediately.
The solution was Chauvet Professional's PVP S5 video wall panels. The panels feature a tight 5.2mm pixel pitch and black face tri-colour SMD LEDs for the perfect presentation of live videos and highly defined graphics for presentation at close range or from afar.
Lightweight and modular with a solid construction, the PVP S5 is well suited to rental and touring applications, as well as long term, permanent, indoor installation. Utilising Neutrik PowerCON and etherCON connectors, installation and connectivity is simple, quick and easy.
Dawson explains, "It's a good product at a good price. We've built up a very good working relationship with Chauvet - and more so in the last year or so. They've got a really good range of products. The reliability is a lot higher than their competitors and they're nice people to deal with. One of the key things is the range of the products they have."
Dawson's trust in the brand has translated into a reinvigoration of the company's own hire inventory and he's assisted other customers in a variety of sectors using the full gamut of Chauvet products.
Using Chauvet DJ SlimPAR Pro VWs, Technical Stage Services replaced the house lights of York University's concert hall. The project has been worked in two phases, replacing 18 lights in each phase. Most of the original bulbs had remained unchanged due to the difficulty in reaching the fitting positions, so the gain for the university was four-fold: they had light where previously there was little, they'd saved money on power consumption by replacing with LED, and they'd saved on time and the safety of manpower with the LED bulb-life and the reliability of the Chauvet brand.
Technical Stage Services has also recently transformed the plain, hall-like nature of a church building in Derby so the space can be hired out during the week for conferences. By installing drapes around the walls to be washed with 20 Chauvet DJ SlimPAR Tri 12 IRC, Dawson and his team created a beautiful and versatile space complete with vibrant colour or colour change whenever necessary, no matter what the event. For additional drama, eight Chauvet Professional Legend 412 moving heads were also installed.
