With over 127 companies exhibiting a broad cross section of products and services, this year's show has expanded into three halls underlining its position as a technical showcase for professionals involved in theatre and auditoria. A host of new companies are exhibiting for the first time from the UK and mainland Europe, including theatrical video experts, XL Video, PA/VA specialists Millbank Electronics, Harman, Duran Audio, Ben-Ri Electronica, Alcons Audio and Turbosound. New lighting companies include Enlightenment and Associated Lighting. New exhibitors from the rigging side of the industry include: Metalworx, Tomcat and Verlinde.
Addressing contemporary issues in theatre there are a host of organizations attending that offer solutions to the impending DDA, which comes into force in October 2004. Theatre Sound specialist Orbital and Sound Associates will both present advanced infrared systems, which offer sensory disability solutions, whilst Vocaleyes will showcase its audio description services.
In its 26th year the ABTT Theatre Show is independently organized by The Association of British Theatre Technicians and Pandemonium Ltd and offers an exclusive opportunity to go "backstage" and discover the spectrum of products and services that underpin modern theatre venues and contemporary productions. Show director, Roger Fox, commented: "We're delighted by the positive up-take to the show this year. The diversity of our exhibitor base this year proves there is a growing demand for integrated systems and new technical solutions in theatre and auditoria. We have put considerable investment into pre-show publicity and we're confident that our 26th edition will be the most successful yet."
