The Revolution, from Unusual Rigging.
UK - As the ABTT Theatre Show draws closer (13-14 June, Royal Horticultural Halls, London), the Association of British Theatre Technicians reports that current pre registrations are indicating another record attendance and that again over 100 exhibitors will showcase a spectrum of technical solutions for everyone involved with housing and presenting the performing arts.

Amongst the many innovations on display will be the new power hoist from Unusual Rigging - The Revolution which is a flexible and efficient winch solution presented within a standard 52cm x 52 cm truss and travels in conventional roadboxes. It has single or multiple use within truss runs with either single or double wires on each winch.

Mayr Transmissions is exhibiting two new designs and three additions to existing designs within the ROBA stop range of fail-safe brakes for theatre and stage equipment /winches. These are: ROBA duplostop; ROBA stop RSA; ROBA stop slienzio double; ROBA stop silenzio torque +, and ROBA diskstop.

Sick/ Stegmann is launching a range of positioning devices and safety limit switch systems, which are designed for the control of stage scenery, platforms and revolves.

R.A.T (Music Stands) is featuring the Strata Staging system. Designed to be user friendly the new range is lighter, easier and even quicker to assemble plus it boasts aluminium die cast corners, says the company.

Maltbury is showcasing its simple and effective scenic revolve system. It allows users to switch scenes in the shortest time and the lockable castors ensure it stays put. It is easy to dismantle and is robust to meet the challenges of any touring production.

Total Fabrications is presenting its Total Training courses. Details of Total Fabrications specialised training for its innovative T2 system will also be available.

Lift Turn Move is highlighting examples from its extensive range of CM Lodestar hoists. Additionally, they will discuss their latest training initiatives, which include the CM Motor School. New products include LTM's Guardian Motor Controllers.

Slingo is exhibiting its CABLEnet tension wire grid along with its award-winning Unibar, and will also present a new power hoist.

Harlequin will feature its extensive range of stage and studio floorings together with sprung floor systems for portable and permanent use.

Show Director Roger Fox commented: "Automation and rigging solutions have become important elements of all theatres and performing arts venues. We are delighted to see so many new product launches at the Show this year."
