PLASA Focus Glasgow 2016 returns to the SECC with another distinguished seminar programme
UK - PLASA Focus Glasgow 2016 returns to the SECC with another distinguished seminar programme that will deliver two days of free pro audio and lighting presentations discussing the latest technologies for the live entertainment technology industry.

Thought provoking speakers include Grant Anderson, the Scottish Lighting Designer, in collaboration with lighting, AV and sound specialists Black Light who designed the popular Botanic Nights - 2015, a unique night-time experience. Grant Anderson explains how the light installation evoked an emotive reaction from the audience.

Anderson comments: "In Scotland, it's often said that you can experience four seasons in one day. Visitors to Botanics Lights have been able to experience four seasons in just one night. It made perfect sense to me to combine nature and light with seasonal changes as the three are inextricably linked. Visitors yearning for the colours and sounds of summer, or any other season, were given the power to influence the light installations before them, and to experience a deeper connectivity with the natural surroundings."

Audio highlights include Nexo's Stuart Kerrison and Orbital Sound presenting Modular PA design: the way to maximise your ROI? as they explore how PA system designs have evolved and how rental companies should choose the right design for them. Another audio session will be presented by Warehouse Sound Services and d&b audiotechnik on Line Arrays Unravelled discussing the pros and cons of using line array directivity technology.

The second edition of PLASA Focus Glasgow has attracted more than 50 brands including Robe, Elation, White Light, ETC, Le Maitre, Avolites, Impact Products, Black Light, and many other leading manufacturers and distributors.

Christopher Toulmin, director of events, adds: "PLASA Focus Glasgow has been received by the industry as the only show in Scotland offering visitors the chance to meet some of the region's designers, engineers, product specialists and end-users whilst seeing some of the latest product releases and engaging with PLASA's popular free seminar programme. The announcement from VisitScotland investing in a new 10-year 'collaborative strategy' to grow Scotland's 3.5bn events industry, has reinforced the need for the Focus show to showcase the latest technologies for the events industry."

Other highlights from the programme include Adlib - who recently acquired EFX Audio and opened their Scottish venture - hosting a demo facility with L-Acoustics and Soundcraft on Wednesday 20 January enabling attendees the opportunity to trial their latest products. Both L-Acoustics and Soundcraft will be providing dedicated seminars and their experts will be available for hands on advice.
