One of Brisbane's oldest taverns, St Paul's was recently rescued from being nothing but a dust trap, and has been refurbished into an outstanding venue for live jazz and blues, as well as for private functions. Each area of the venue features a Turbosound-based audio system, from the venue's small function room - equipped with four Impact 50 loudspeakers and two Impact 110 sub-bass units - to the multi-purpose Main Room, which has been designed to operate as a nightclub, live music venue or large function room. TRG's technical manager Andrew Wood worked with Audio Telex Queensland's Greg Nuttall, systems design engineer, to agree the final specification, which resulted in four Turbosound QLight TQ-310 and four TQ-115 subs being deployed in the Main Room for FOH duties. Six TCS-35 two-way speakers were also installed, for additional room fill when required.
Audio Telex also supplied MediaMatrix, Lab Gruppen, Rane, Australian Monitor, Martin Lighting, Ness Digital DVR recorders and Nightlife Music Video HDMS systems. The MediaMatrix X-Frame and XControl panels were installed to make the background audio system as user friendly as possible, and to remove the possibilities for feedback-loop errors when routing audio to the different areas.
