Starring nine celebrities including Eighties pop icon, Steve Strange, actress and Dynasty star, Emma Samms and Right Said Fred frontman, Richard Fairbrass, the show was hosted by Presenter and XFM DJ, Alex Zane.
Lee Stafford - Britain's most creative celebrity hairdresser and his team managed the would-be snippers in the Celebrity Scissor Hands Academy, which was located at the heart of BBC Television Centre. Roll To Record's sound supervisor, Peter Vasey, has deployed Trantec for many years for the brand's reliability and flexibility and ease of operation. For Celebrity Scissor Hands he specified three, 8-way rack systems for the series, which allowed a maximum of 24-channels to be deployed.
Vasey commented: "At Roll to Record we've found that the S6000 system is perfectly suited to the new vogue of reality TV. This type of show tends to record for long periods often 24 hours non-stop. As the S6000 belt packs operate only on one AA battery, which we power with Lithium batteries, this safely gives us 15-18 hours of usage and the system an edge. Plus the small footprint of the belt pack goes down very well with both the cast and production team; they're very discreet and robust."
In addition the wide frequency tuning range of the S6000 and its 72MHz operation adds to its flexibility and optimises the most hostile frequency environments. Vasey is preparing to use 20 channels of the S6000 system on Endemol's Celebrity Big Brother, presented by Davina McCall, which goes live on 3 January 2007.
