The Peterborough-based company has acquired the unit adjacent to their existing premises, increasing their available warehouse and office facility by over 4,000sq.ft. There has also been a significant investment in new stock with the addition of over £200k of equipment to their inventory including CM Lodestar, Outboard, Robe, Sennheiser and Studio Due products.
This investment in equipment has been complemented by the addition of some new team members to ensure Pearce Hire continues to serve the needs of their diverse client base.
"It's a big decision to increase the square footage of our warehouse, and to commit to a significant purchase of new kit," comments Shaun Pearce, managing director of Pearce Hire. "But with a very loyal customer base, I felt that we owed it to them, as well as to our new customers, to ensure we are offering the very best equipment on the market. Simultaneously, we must ensure that we can service their requirements efficiently and effectively from our HQ. So it's no surprise that this triple expansion - space, kit and staff - has happened all at once."
With their expertise in temporary power distribution, lighting and audio hire, and event production, the summer months are always busy for Pearce Hire. And the extraordinarily busy run of events over the summer months this year has validated these expansion decisions.
"There was a definite increase in our business activity over the summer with various high profile events and celebrations taking place around the country. Several festivals and events were re-scheduled to avoid clashing with the Olympics, including Lovebox which we supplied in London early on in the summer. We needed to ensure we remained as reliable as ever despite these scheduled changes. It was exciting and fast-paced, and it was incredibly busy, but we were determined that none of our regular customers should be impacted in any way by the additional workload that Pearce Hire had committed to for new and 'one-off' customers'."
Joining the Pearce Hire team recently to help manage this workload is hire manager Jamie Arkless who brings with him a wealth of experience. Louise Mather has joined the warehouse team and heads up the drapes department and a new role of junior technician has been created for recent recruit Adam Masters.
"We are delighted to be in the position that expansion has been possible in all areas of our business, and welcome our new team members on board," concludes Pearce. "And the work isn't letting up as our Autumn and seasonal schedule gets into full swing."
