Scandec Systemer, L-Acoustics distributor in Norway, provided an L Acoustics sound system for the venue. The configuration is comprised of two arrays of thre ARCS, and two stacks of SB218 subs. Two 112P self-powered speakers are used as first delays in mid point of the audience, and two 108P are located at the rear restaurant as second delays.
Bj°rn Johnny ValsgÃ¥rd, sales manager in charge of the project at Scandec Systemer, explained: "The main constraints in this venue was the very limited height of the room, making reverberation a real problem. However owing to the ARCS' tight and well-defined directivity pattern, remarkable clarity and perfect coherence along with powerful, smooth and predictable coverage were achieved."
Rune Holme, Dokkhuset's technical manager, says: "We had the board from the Norwegian Jazz Forum recently here, and they were so impressed with the house, the sound, the lighting and of course the band (Kristin Asbj°rnsen ) that they could almost not speak." Head of the Stavanger Jazz Forum told him: "This is how a Jazz Club should be! The coverage is incredibly homogeneous. I remember walking from the back of the hall, and up to the stage during the concert, because I had to get some water for the musicians - I have never heard the sound change so little (nothing) through the hall."
