Originally a passenger ferry sailing across the Humber estuary from Hull to New Holland, the Tattershall Castle has taken on a modern, new look, with large, clear windows being fitted in the stylish main bar, offering both drinkers and diners stunning views of the nearby London Eye, Festival Hall and the Houses of Parliament.
On board there is also a nightclub, which plays host to the glamorous Kash Point alternative club night, a Monday night comedy club - famous for attracting well-known comedians such as Graham Norton, Mark Thomas and Jimmy Carr - and a private dining area and chill-out bar on the lower deck.
tsg was asked by the ship's owners, Spirit Group, to design and install an entertainment system that included a state-of-the-art audio system, effects and mood lighting and plasma screens. In doing so, the company were respectful of the ship's history and décor. Paul Kemp, tsg's operations manager, chose to specify and install a Dare Audio Micro 88HP loudspeaker system, finished sympathetically in a biscuit cream piano lacquer, with Tannoy i5AW weatherproof loudspeakers feeding both decks and Tryka LED strip modules generating a colour wash effect to all external window areas. All music and media content at the Tattershall Castle is controlled and scheduled via tsg's ubiquitous Promedia hard disk music and graphics system, offering a solution tailored to the needs of this popular tourist attraction.
