The Aspect design features a set of proprietary transducers, operating over four individual frequency bands and divided between the system's modular mid/high and LF enclosures. Key technical innovations include the Polyhorn designs; these are applied at both high and high-mid frequencies, and comprise equal-path-length multi-section waveguides which create a phase-coherent wavefront, say Turbo. This design permits individual wavefronts to coincide with the physical curvature of an array and to minimize comb filtering effects between adjacent cabinets. Turbosound says the Aspect's combination of high efficiency and improved power handling can generate sound pressure levels in excess of 146dB peak.
Also new is a range of digitally powered systems in the QLight series. The three featured models - the TQ-445DP three-way design, the TQ-310DP two-way system, and the TQ-308DP two-way design, all in trapezoidal enclosures - employ a new design of Class-D power amplifiers, incorporating DSP technology and offering a 96kHz sample rate. The new models boast a 110dB dynamic range, say Turbosound, and are capable of operating at more than 90% overall efficiency. The new amplifier module can be retro-fitted to earlier QLight systems and delivers 2 x 800W into 8 ohms.
