Introduced earlier this year, Turbosound's highly successful TXD series is aimed at the club, DJ and live performance markets, and has already proved to be one of the company's fastest-selling product lines. Being launched at PLASA is the ultra-compact TXD-081, a passive 8" two-way loudspeaker designed for club, bar and restaurants installs, plus the TXD-252 - a 2 x 15" + 2" trapezoidal combo, which looks set to become a firm favourite with pub bands and DJs. Both the new models share the same features that have made the TXD systems such a success - a thermal overload protection system (TOPS), which ensures high frequency driver reliability, plus robust birch plywood construction, high-grade crossover components and built-in rigging points.
Turbosound's new range of compact sub-bass cabinets is kicked off by the TSB-110. A dual-coil 10" band-pass design, it enables up to six satellite speakers to be connected via the internal passive crossover in a stereo configuration. The TSB-110 is powerful enough to generate up to 125dB max SPL (peak) of sub-bass energy, from an enclosure volume of less than two cubic feet.
In Turbosound's QLight series, the self-powered TQ-308SP has secured its place in the corporate and audio-visual dry hire market, and is now joined by an all-passive version, the TQ-308. A space-saving, asymmetrical trapezoidal cabinet makes the TQ-308 ideal for installation use, as well as rental applications, and also allows it to double as a powerful, yet discreet, floor monitor. The three-way TQ-440, mainstay of the QLight series, is the subject of a backwards-compatible performance upgrade that improves HF directivity and optimizes the co-axial driver loading.
Turbosound can be found on stand EE20 at PLASA.
