Hussain Al Jassmi uses customised Sennheiser SKM-5200
UAE - The 38th National Day celebrations in the UAE saw Dubai distributor, Venuetech accommodate a special request from production company Dubai Artistic.

Venuetech were asked to supply a Sennheiser SKM-5200 microphone for the regionally acclaimed artist Hussain Al Jassmi to use on a string of concerts arranged across the country for the 2 December celebration. When Venuetech approached Sennheiser with the request and advised on what the microphone was to be used, they came up with the idea of having it customised by Crystal-Roc. Crystal-Roc then emblazoned the microphones with coloured Swarovski Crystal in the style of a UAE flag.

"When we were asked to come up with something special for this event I immediately got in touch with Mig Cardamone, Middle East business area manager for Sennheiser, and asked him if we could come up with something unique and from there we agreed to try a customised Crystal Roc option, even though the timescale was tight. I knew Crystal Roc had already customised a few microphones for Sennheiser UK to great effect so I was sure that this was the perfect option for such an important event." said Elie Khairallah, Venuetech's technical director.

"We are very happy with the result and thank the team at Sennheiser and Crystal Roc for their support in helping us contribute towards the UAE's National Day celebrations," he added.

Al Jassmi's, first stop was the Family Garden stage in Dubai where he took the opportunity to wow the crowd with some of the tracks from his latest album and some traditional songs as well. Then it was off to the Heritage Village in Al Ain City and finally to the Cultural Centre in Zayed City.

"I have been a user of Sennheiser microphones for a number of years and have always been impressed by both the performance and reliability they offer me. I normally work with a white version of the SKM-5200 with the Neumann KK-104 capsule but for Dubai Artistic and Venuetech to come up with such a unique variation is both a treat and a pleasure for me to use on such a momentous occasion," Al Jassmi said.
