The day promises to provide a series of exciting and thought provoking solutions
UK - Unusual Rigging is supporting SiPA at this year's ABTT with a Green Day workshop. On 7 June, Unusual, along with ATG, the National Theatre, Sadler's Wells and others, will run the three hour workshop that centres around how the framework of a circular economy can optimise and drive further value within the live production industry; examples of circular innovations that have captured and delivered further value; and cross industry collaboration on sustainability goals, based on the nine goals of SiPA.org.uk, in order to write an organisational policy.
Tom Harper, Unusual Rigging's sustainability co-ordinator, said: "We are thrilled that the organisers of ABTT have committed to presenting an annual Green Day workshop. The purpose of this is to drive forward the SiPA agenda of igniting sustainable culture change within our industry."
The series of workshops, which will run from midday on 7 June, have been developed to share some of the many sustainability solutions being applied by a selection of the organisations within the 70-strong SiPA alliance. Unusual will be presenting some of the circular business model innovations it has applied, for which it has won high praise from the World Economic Forum two years running.
Tom concluded: "The day promises to provide a series of exciting and thought provoking solutions to how the live production industry can accelerate the transition towards an economy that is robust, resilient and more ecologically restorative by design. We hope those who attend will leave energised, with lots of ideas that they can put into practice within their own working environments."
