The deal formalises a long standing relationship with Group One, which has been working with VDC on an ad hoc basis for some time. According to export manager, Andy Dennis, the agreement marks a significant step forward as VDC pursues a concerted international expansion strategy.
"VDC Trading and Van Damme already enjoy strong international reputations for unrivalled quality and excellent customer service," says Dennis. "Building alliances with like-minded partners in key markets is an important part of our strategy for growth over the next five years. This deal with Group One is an example of that approach coming to fruition."
Group One president, Jack Kelly was also delighted to do the deal: "We've been recommending Van Damme cable for a few years now, and some of our most demanding and knowledgeable customers insist that they are simply the best you can get.
"We've been talking to VDC Trading over the last year and it just seemed the right time for all of us. It's a very natural fit for Group One as the variety of cable products Van Damme offers cuts across many of our activities, including Broadcast/Production, Touring, Install, Marine, and Music Retail. I like the customer service focus of the company and I'm extremely happy to join the Van Damme family."
Niall Holden, MD at VDC Trading, added: "It was vital for us to find the right partners and to work with like-minded companies, so we are delighted to be working with Group One. They have a great reputation for quality and service and we are very much looking forward to working with them to build a strong business in the US."
