Born out of the event sector and launched to the market in January 2013, uTRAC is currently working with companies Aikens Promotions and Knight Rigging Services. The software has become integral to ensuring events runs smoothly, allowing clients to stay on top of the essential back office administration involved with assigning staff to jobs, greatly reducing errors and hassle. uTRAC streamlines all the financial and administrative functions including wages reports, client invoices, and business reporting.
Ronan Moore, managing director at uTRAC started out as crew member at Event Services Ireland (ESI) before launching uTRAC as an independent business. As his career progressed he took on more of an operations role, where he was responsible for increasing the efficiencies of scheduling casual workers. It was during this time that he began developing his ideas about the software.
He explains: "I was responsible for scheduling crewing staff and was spending a lot of time using complicated and varied paper and spread sheet systems. When you're processing upwards of 65,000 hours a year, it becomes a massive task for both the administration and operations department. I wanted something that would streamline and combine these processes.
"I came up with the idea of an online-hosted staff scheduling system linked to payroll and quickly realised the amount of workload I could reduce as well as the administrative efficiency and reduction of errors it would bring to my job."
