"Throughout the year, we run a large number of sales, marketing and training seminars, including courses for clinical education with live surgical links from operating theatres to seminar rooms that enable surgeons to learn more about surgical techniques and our products," says Irwin Crowe, Biomet's International Marketing Services Manager. "Each of these events has a requirement for audio visual equipment and we have now invested in our own systems because it is more cost effective to buy the equipment than to keep hiring it in."
Nigel Jones, Biomet's recently appointed exhibition technician, was given the task of specifying the AV systems. He says: "I chose VDC for the cabling infrastructure because I'd had good experiences with the company in the past and I knew they offered value for money," he says. "We needed an extensive range including microphone, amplifier, speaker and video cable and I knew VDC would be able to fulfil the entire order. Their products are always reliable and offer industry standard build quality and connectors."
Biomet UK has manufacturing facilities at Bridgend, South Wales and Swindon, Wilts. The UK sites are part of the world-wide Biomet manufacturing structure, which includes facilities in France, Germany, Spain and the USA.
