Playing the GoPro Stage at the Grand Plaza of the Anaheim Convention Centre on Sunday, 25 January, the Villalobos Brothers performed a blend of songs that celebrate the richness of Mexican folk music, with the intricate harmonies of jazz and classical music, which lends to the natural reproduction of the DPA d:facto Vocal and d:vote 4099 Instrument Microphones.
The Villalobos Brothers, comprised of siblings Luis, Ernesto and Alberto Villalobos, are a trio of renowned vocalists and violin players. The group is supported by band members Humberto Flores on guitar, Rosa Avila on drums and Leo Sherman on bass. Having recently acquired the DPA mics for use in both the studio and during live performances, the group used them once again for their upcoming NAMM performance.
"We are all extremely grateful to DPA Microphones for their ongoing kindness," says Luis Villalobos. "Our relationship with the company began when we discovered the d:vote Instrument Microphones for our violins. We quickly fell in love with the microphones' clarity, ease of use and ability to stay put throughout our rigorous performances. Since then, DPA has become more than a mic company to us. We cannot be more excited to use DPA's mics for our show-closing performance, which will take place in front of many of the industry's top music professionals who visit NAMM."
In addition to their NAMM Show performance, the Villalobos Brothers will continue to use DPA's d:facto and d:vote on the road, with plans to include more of the company's mics in future set-ups.
