The new Interactive Poster offers a range (30-60-inch) of high-resolution interactive diffusion and holographic rear projection screens, which can be used either free-standing or attached to a window. Commercial director Mike Cole said: "The 'Interactive Poster' offers a new dimension for retailers; it can be used within the store to promote services or offerings, or within the shop window to enable day time or out-of-hours window shopping. We can see an opportunity where city centre companies lease their windows to 'virtual stores', and key public meeting points have touch screen information areas."
Visual Planet's approach enables instant promotional or general information updates to be made by central marketing or communications departments. This overcomes the limitations of an audio-visual approach using either looped material or changing CDs at intervals during the day. Technology director Vernon Spencer commented: "Digital messaging, where content for displays and signage is controlled remotely over the Internet, is the next exciting development and we are seeing significant interest for this type of applications across retail and corporate environments."
