Clausen, a 10-year industry veteran who has been with Vari-Lite for more than four years, will lead the session titled ‘Meet the Virtuoso DX’ on 29-31 October from 9am to 5pm each day. In this hands-on session, attendees can learn the basics of automated light programming using the state-of-the-art Vari*Lite Virtuoso DX console. The sessions introduce attendees to the programming style of the Virtuoso DX console and automated lighting design concepts.Attendees also learn the basics of control setup, cue and effects creation, and how to make the console their own using snapshots and macros.
Waits, a veteran with 20 years of service at Vari-Lite and almost 30 in the entertainment industry, will lead an exclusive curriculum as part of the ESTA Training Programs at LDInstitute titled ‘Basics of Automated Lighting: Systems and Design.’ The sessions run from 29-31 October from 8:30am to 5:30pm and feature an in-depth, hands-on introduction to working with automated luminaires and the consoles that control them. Attendees will get to use a variety of control systems, including the Virtuoso DX console.
In addition to its employees coordinating technical training sessions, Vari-Lite will be exhibiting at booth 711. And at the LDI/ESTA awards ceremony on 3 November, Vari-Lite engineer Jim Bornhorst will receive the Wally Russell 2001 Lifetime Achievement Award for exhibiting leadership, a commitment to technological innovation, and a career of service to the lighting industry.
