UK - The Progress 1000 Awards, in partnership with Citi, is an annual event hosted by the London Evening Standard. It recognises the most influential people in the capital who work across a range of fields, from theatre to film to medicine to architecture. This year's event took place on Wednesday 7 September at the Science Museum and White Light was approached to provide the complete technical solutions.

This is the second year that WL has worked on the event, following last year's celebrations at the Canary Wharf Crossrail Station. Richard Stirzaker, WL's creative producer, comments, "The Progress 1000 is one of the most important dates in the capital's social calendar therefore the expectations of those in attendance are always extremely high. The brief was to make the evening as visually impressive as possible while accentuating the features of the Science Museum and reaffirming the brand of the London Evening Standard. With the event taking place in the Museum's various spaces, it was important that we used all of these to their maximum potential".

Working closely with Matrix who provided the audio, WL offered a creative solution that allowed for a different feel in each space.

Richard adds, "Similar to the previous year, we really wanted to push the boundaries once again. Working in the various spaces, we were creating lighting positions which have never been tried before; something which looked amazing when guests arrived."

As with any event taking place within a public space, there was limited time on-site for preparation. With the event taking place on Wednesday evening, the WL team visited the Museum on Tuesday evening where they were given two hours to prepare, ensuring that everything was in place for the following day's celebrations.

This year at the Awards, HRH Prince Charles was awarded Londoner of the Decade whilst London Mayor Sadiq Khan was named as the Most Influential Person in London.

Richard concludes, "The Progress 1000 Awards not only gave us the opportunity to offer a creative solution but to then bring this to life. As a company, we relish the chance to work on every stage of a project; from offering our initial creative input to the get-out when the event has finished. We are in the fortunate position of being able to provide the complete technical and creative solutions on any event and the Progress 1000 Awards reaffirmed this."
