The one day event, which takes place today (30 November) at the Royal Opera House, will give visitors the opportunity to take part in workshops delivered by skilled professionals from across the arts, and to meet representatives from more than forty exhibiting theatres, training providers and education institutions. Topics up for exploration include producing, stage management, make-up, lighting, marketing, theatre journalism, sound, directing, costume design, playwriting and design.
Now in its seventh year, TheatreCraft aims to provide essential information and advice to young people interested in working behind the scenes of the entertainment industry. In addition to sponsoring the event, White Light will also exhibit at TheatreCraft, with staff on hand to answer questions and give advice for those looking to enter the field.
"Investing in the future just makes sense," says Bryan Raven, managing director at White Light. "This industry relies on a group of talented and knowledgeable individuals and it is important to offer opportunities, training, and advice in order to grow that group for the future."
At the event, Raven will participate in a panel discussion about career paths in the industry. Along with supporting events like TheatreCraft, White Light also runs a successful technical apprenticeship programme.
