UK - The Willow Foundation is a charity that works with seriously ill young adults, offering them a range of 'Special days' which aim to provide a chance to escape the pressures of their daily routine and share quality time with family and/or friends. The charity was founded by ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson and his wife Megs, in memory of their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.

Every special day is of the young person's choosing - it could involve fulfilling a lifelong dream or it could simply offer an opportunity to bring some much-needed normality back into their lives. The Foundation will endeavour to fulfil the special day request however imaginative and, if possible, exceed expectations.

To date the charity has organised and funded special days for young adults living with a wide range of serious conditions including amongst others; cancer, motor neurone disease, cystic fibrosis, organ failure, multiple sclerosis (later stages) and heart disease.

The charity has, in the past, been a recipient of a donation from the PLASA Show's charity programme, and has now approached PLASA looking for help with providing special days to young people with life-threatening illnesses at a number of festivals in the UK this summer. The Willow Foundation is willing to meet all costs involved, including the price of tickets: if anyone reading this can help make these available, please contact the Willow Foundation at the address provided below.

T IN THE PARK - SCOTLAND: One request: Jonathan is 23 and would like to attend with his partner. Jonathan has cancer and has recently finished his latest cycle of chemotherapy. He has lost his hair as a result of treatment and this trip would really help him regain some of his self esteem.

LEEDS FESTIVAL: Three Requests: Laura is 26 and has Wegners Granulomatosis (a rare disease that effects airways). She has limited mobility due to breathlessness and would like to attend the festival with partner.
Jenny is 28 and has breast cancer. She has recently undergone surgery and completed chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She would like to attend the Leeds Festival with those who have been so supportive through her treatment - her sister and two best friends.
James is 24 and has cancer. He recently underwent surgery and is now undergoing radiotherapy. He would love to attend the festival with his dad.

READING FESTIVAL: One request: Victoria is 23 and has cancer and is in current treatment. She would love to attend Reading Festival with her friend, and would love to camp.

In all special day experiences the Willow Foundation will fund all aspects of the trip including transport, ticket costs, accomodation (where necessary).

If you can help the charity fulfil any of the above special day wishes through the provision of tickets, please contact: Suzanne Brennan on 01707 259777 or at the e-mail address below.
