USA - This summer, Wonderland Forest, a campground and concert venue by GFY Entertainment, transformed the rolling hills of Central New York's Apple Valley into a hub of musical performances. The venue hosted a series of concerts and festivals all season long, powered by a 1 Sound audio system for the outdoor festival-style stage.
Upstate Stage & Lighting, a live production and installation company with a focus on music venues, selected 1 Sound for the Saloon Stage. The versatile system accommodated various musical acts, from full rock bands to DJs, with travelling sound engineers consistently impressed by the clarity and sound of the 1 Sound system.
For this outdoor system that was set to be installed for three months, Upstate Stage and Lighting deployed two Contour CT212s a side as the main left and right. These robust, three-way horn-loaded point sources, capable of delivering a max SPL of 145 dB, provided the necessary long-throw coverage for the expansive outdoor field. The Contour series’ constant directivity design helped to limit the sound on stage for microphones, also limiting the sound behind the stage where there was another concert stage set up. The CT212s were hung using the CT212 Fly Bar.
Enhancing the system’s low end, four bi-amped SUB2112 subwoofers were deployed at the front and centre of the stage. Each subwoofer features a 21-inch driver paired with two 12-inch drivers, ensuring deep, powerful bass with punchy upper mids.
For front-fills, Upstate Stage & Lighting installed two Cannon C8 loudspeakers on the lip of the stage. These delivered a max SPL of 120 dB, ensuring an impactful sound experience for those closest to the stage. Additionally, Contour CT28s, the smaller model in the Contour line, served as DJ monitors, positioned atop left and right SUB2112s. All 1 Sound products are IP55 rated, complete with weather-resistant accessories.
