During the series, the mentors helped their apprentices hone technical, remixing and production skills and the mixer chosen as a practice model was the industry standard Xone:62: "My first time to ever use an Allen & Heath mixer was on the first programme of The Joy of Decks," said finalist Clodagh McCann. "It looked very complicated at first, but once I started playing on it, it was straightforward, smooth and the sound quality was excellent. The filters are also cool to play with and I'm really looking forward to using the mixers again. This is one quality product!"
The programme's winner, Ryan Shaw, commented: "I'm always happy when using Allen & Heath's range of Xone mixers. The four-band EQ and stunning hi pass, band pass and low pass filters enable me to create a mix more sonically appealing than with any other mixer on the market. I can't wait to really get my teeth in to it when I start my residency at Back to Basics in Leeds."
