ProSpots to the fore on the Nexus dance floor
UK - Xtreme Audio Visual has recently refurbished Luminar Leisure's former Bedford showpiece, The Plaza, which has been purchased by club industry stalwart Kerpel Baines and renamed Nexus. Craig Wiggins' company has been a heavy shopper at Coemar UK recently, having also equipped its flagship installation Guru - at the new Heron City leisure complex in Valencia, Spain - largely with fixtures purchased from UK distributors. In fact both venues opened in the same week at the beginning of October.

Craig Wiggins of Xtreme Audio Visual said: "The Bedford venue's vaulted ceiling is nicely raked before flattening off. We have used three Coemar Prospots 150s in the centre, almost alongside each other, two either side of the roof pitch and the final one further down on the flat part of the ceiling." One of the dance podiums features a shower, with a Coemar ProSpot positioned close to the bar projecting a 'Nexus' custom gobo across it.

Wiggins continues: "Ergonomically we love Coemar's iSpot and ProSpot range, which are pleasing on the eye. We were very happy with them in Spain, the ProSpot 150 compares favourably with many of the 250W models, and in addition the movement is fast, making them ideal for club applications."

Wiggins will stick to the Coemar formula when he fits out Kerpel Baines' next club, the former Hollywood, in Ipswich. Renamed Zest, and scheduled for a mid-November opening, this time he will upgrade to half a dozen Coemar ProSpot 575s.(Sarah Rushton-Read)
