A focal point of Yamaha's presence will be the MRX7-D open architecture signal processor, the RMio64-D Dante/MADI conversion i/o unit and the RSio64-D Dante/mini-YGDAI convertor. In addition, the latest V4 software for CL/QL series digital mixing consoles will be on demonstration.
Complementing the Yamaha Commercial Installation Solutions (CIS) range of MTX series fixed architecture matrix processors, the MRX7-D delivers simple yet outstandingly flexible control for complex, high-capacity sound systems in hotels, ballrooms, houses of worship, schools, libraries, theatres, convention centres, conference rooms and many other applications.
Featuring eight mic/line analogue inputs, eight analogue outputs and two stereo RCA inputs, an onboard mini-YGDAI card slot allows local i/o expansion and connection to other digital audio products. Also featured are 16 channels of Yamaha's proprietary YDIF i/o and 64 channels of Dante i/o, enabling a total simultaneous i/o count of up to 110 inputs and 104 outputs.
The RMio64-D allows audio from a CL or QL mixing console live sound (or other Dante-equipped) system to be converted to MADI and fed to an Outside Broadcast vehicle or other recording facility. Alternatively, it can allow a MADI-based console to be easily integrated into the Nuage post-production system.
It is mountable via CL/QL console touchscreen displays, with convenient remote control of Dante patching and sample rate converter settings (support of which is planned for a future update). Precision synchronisation with Nuage system Direct Monitoring and VST System Link functions is also provided, as well as remote control from Nuage Workgroup Manager software.
The RSio64-D is a Dante/Yamaha Mini-YGDAI card interface which provides up to 64 inputs/64 outputs for live sound, broadcast, recording and other professional audio applications. Its four card slots are compatible with over 30 different Yamaha mini-YGDAI cards, allowing a wide range of input/output formats to be connected to a Dante network. It also accepts cards that provide capabilities such as Lake processing and Dan Dugan automatic mixing and can be remotely controlled from CL/QL series consoles or Yamaha's R Remote software application.
Each Mini-YGDAI slot includes a sample rate converter (SRC) allowing devices operating on different word clocks to be connected without causing noise or signal interruptions. Full support for Dante network redundancy (primary/secondary) is provided and presets for seven basic routing patterns are built in.
Making its UK trade show debut, the CL and QL console V4 software adds a number of significant new features, including the ability to remotely control and monitor Shure ULXD4D and ULXD4Q digital wireless receivers, new EQ algorithms, the new Premium Rack MBC4 four-band multiband compressor, a second cue bus, graphic EQ control from Touch & Turn Knobs, the ability to write CSV files and control of head amplifiers in the Tio1608-D i/o unit for TF series consoles, making it possible to combine the Tio1608-D with the Rio3224-D and Rio1608-D i/o units.
The V4 software also supports MonitorMix, an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch app that allows wireless control of send levels to the mix bus, and new effect editing features in the latest CL/QL StageMix V6.0 iPad app.
