Therefore, Glyndebourne’s decision to undertake an upgrade of the sound system in its auditorium marked a milestone moment for opera enthusiasts. EM Acoustics’ flagship Reference Series is at the heart of the story.

The thought of introducing amplification is often seen as a threat to the authenticity of opera. While opera is fundamentally an acoustic art form, modern productions and programming schedules demand creative flexibility. The Netherlands - The Sportcampus Zuiderpark is an indoor sports arena located in The Hague. Opened in 2017, it is used for several indoor sports and the main 3,500-cap hall is the home arena of professional basketball club The Hague Royals.

Every year, just before Christmas, the venue hosts the annual Sportgala, which recognises the achievements of local athletes and sports teams, as well as coaches, referees and volunteers.

Also based in the Hague region is Roel Bik’s rental supply company, Minigigs, who were contracted to provide sound, light, video and rigging. “Audient has had such a great reputation for many years,” he says. “I didn’t end up getting my first Audient product until I was composing the score for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. Our music editor, Alana Janssen, purchased an Evo 16 for her rig. I was so knocked out by it that I went out and got one for my home setup.”

Once he’d discovered what the 24 in/out Evo 16 audio interface was capable of, his eyes - and ears - were opened to Oria. “After reading the first stunning reviews of the Oria online, my expectations w

Copyright Matters - Heads of high-profile arts organisations, including the Royal Shakespeare Company and English National Opera, have written to demand greater protection on copyright for creatives. Tamara Harvey, Daniel Evans and Andrew Leveson of the RSC, as well as ENO’s Jenny Mollica and the Royal Ballet and Opera’s Alex Beard have all signed a letter expressing concern over the effect the government’s plans to "diminish creative copyright" could have on "a fragile ecosystem" for artists.

The leaders, who also include in their ranks regional venue leaders such as Bristol Old Vic chief executive Charlotte Geeves, Tiata Fahodzi boss Chinonyerem Odimba and the Donmar Warehouse’s Henny Finch, all oppose an envisaged exemption to copyright law for AI companies looking to train their technology.
