Denmark - Recent exhibitions at the Museum Sydøstdanmark in the Danish town of Køge have presented various physical and visual challenges.

Danish system integrators AV-Huset worked closely with dnp denmark to come up with two very different solutions in order to overcome these difficulties. In spite of space restrictions and low ceilings, they were able to deliver the desired image quality via their proprietary Supernova optical display platform.

The specification of a 80" (2.33:1) dnp Supernova STS and similar size dnp Supernova Blade, equipped with 08-85 screen material, came about when the museum was setting up two new exhibitions, and wanted each to make a dramatic opening statement. One of the museum's exhibition designer/developers, Carl-Henrik Hansen, explains, "We wanted to captivate the audience with size and content, and felt projection was

We needed a product that would not only deliver fantastic lighting and video design, but would also adapt to meet the needs of different venues and stage heights. What's great about the Modular Rigging System is that we can use the

UK - Black Light used its LED lighting expertise in delivering a large low resolution LED video facade for a carpark at the new Manchester First Street development. The success of this project demonstrates the company's experience in working with LED as well as being chosen as a supplier and installer of Osrams' Traxon LED products.

"This was a great project for us," says Phil Haldane, Black Light's company development manager. "We have experience in working with LED lighting and we worked closely with the manufacturer of the facade panels to ensure the interfacing of our systems to theirs was seamless." The team also had to think ahead to 'future proof' the new installation. Due to the amount of lighting that needed to be installed, the potential for cost savings were significant and this was a key driver for the project itself.

China - The main banking hall of HSBC's headquarters is referred to as 'The Cathedral' for good reason; the modern resemblance to a grand abbey is undeniable. This vast space soars above the glass floor of the main banking hall and is accessed via escalators from the plaza below. The vaulted ceiling is crowned with the sparkle of an immense mirror. The office floors are the galleries and the bridges the cloisters. The eastern elevation contains a grand symbolic gesture, a vast unstained glass window complete with its tracery of mullions and transoms, which extends the full height of the vault.

The idea of lighting the atrium had been proposed more than a year ago by Mindseye Lighting Consultants from London. The impetus to develop and implement the concept came from the 150th anniversary of the Bank which would fall on 3 March 2015.

UK - Production manager Matt Towell is no stranger to working with Unusual Rigging, having worked together on numerous West End shows. So when Matt was brought on board to manage magician Dynamo's first tour, he naturally decided to sprinkle a little Unusual magic into the mix.

"The initial plan was to have Unusual Rigging supply us with 125 motors for our production rehearsals in LH2, but as I've found from working with these guys in the past, once they're involved, it's hard to imagine doing any of the tour without them. And so we enlisted the team to do the entire show - all the rigging for the staging, scenery lighting, staging and sound. They also provided all the rigging services - the pre-production rigging plots for all the venues as well as all the liaising with the venues and structural engineers."

UK - Christie has announced the launch of AccuFrame Pro. Pro software reduces visual artifacts, like smear, that contribute to "negative training" - a simulated environment that gives false visual and motion cues by targeting low-to-mid intensity content at the pixel level, without reducing brightness caused by shortening the time each frame is displayed in a simulator.

"By reducing smear at the pixel level, images appear sharper and moving images look more realistic," says Curtis Lingard, product manager, Christie. "AccuFrame Pro eliminates the need for additional projectors to compensate for the loss of brightness by targeting low-to-mid intensity content, where most simulated content falls."

AccuFrame Pro is activated via a licensing process for any Matrix StIM WQ, Matrix SIM WQ and Mirage WQ-L projector in the field, thereby improving existi
