At the heart of 'Robo-Jock' is an ABB IRB140 six-axis robot which operates a complete video console featuring Pioneer DVJ players and DJM mixer. 5 Star designed and built the entire 'Super Tour' case in which Robo-Jock operates, featuring all-round vision panels and a CNC-machined 'Inner Pod' to house the Pioneer equipment.
The Pod also includes 10" TFT monitors and a full audio system. Engineers at ABB programmed the movement of the robot to 5 Star's requirements. A matching rack case is also included to house Robo-Jock's extensive control system.
5 Star's new 'Rack in a Box' system will also be highlighted at PLASA. This popular product is ideal for AV installations and also for touring or fixed racks for outboard processing equipment and computer systems. It has recently undergone a complete revamp and offers new design features. Various styles of inner rack sleeves can be selected, all CNC machined from quality birch plywood with a durable textured finish. All the inner sleeves are stackable and can be supplied with front, rear and intermediate rack strips. The road case features 4" castors and recessed hardware, together with polyethylene foam protection.
Basic Rack In A Box systems come in small, medium and large formats, with an optional matchingAccessories Tray - making a totally modular rack system.
5 Star has also designed and built its entire PLASA stand this year. This has an industrial theme to illustrate the flexibility and versatility of the company's two CNC machining centres and their design skills.
