USA - Audio-Technica's new Midnight Blues MB/Dk5 and MB/Dk7 Drum Packs provide an affordable miking solution for percussion, with durable microphones that carry a five-year limited warranty, say the company. The MB/Dk5 Drum Pack consists of four Midnight Blues MB 5k snare/ tom microphones, one MB 6k kick drum microphone and four AT8665 drum mic mounts. The MB/Dk7 drum pack consists of two MB 4k overhead/ hi-hat microphones, four MB 5k snare/tom microphones, one MB 6k kick drum microphone and four AT8665 drum mic mounts.

The AT8665 is a low-profile design drum rim microphone mount that saves considerable stage space, eliminating the need for conventional floor stands. The AT8665 offers flexibility for positioning the mic on the snare or toms while providing a solid and secure microphone mounting that is able to withstand even the hardest of players. Both Drum Packs are confidently backed by Audio-Technica's exclusive five-year limited warranty and come in eye-catching, attractive packaging designed to stand out on the retail sales floor.

The cornerstone of the MB/Dk5 drum pack is the MB 5k cardioid dynamic snare/tom microphone (three included), which is custom-engineered for use on snare and toms. Featuring durable all-metal construction and a low-profile percussion-style design, the MB 5k comes with a built-in adjustable stand mount. It has a frequency response of 100-12,000Hz, sensitivity of -58 dB (I.2 mV), 500 ohm impedance and a corrosion-resistant gold-plated XLRM-type connector. In addition, the MB 5k has a high-output design with low mechanical noise due to A-T's special anti-shock engineering.

The MB 6k cardioid dynamic kick microphone was engineered for use on kick drum or low-frequency percussion. It also employs Audio-Technica's Hi-ENERGY neodymium magnet structure for maximum output and fast transient response. Featuring rugged all-metal construction and a low-profile percussion style design, the MB 6k has a frequency response of 60-12,000Hz, sensitivity of -59dB (1.1 mV) and a corrosion-resistant gold-plated XLRM-type connector.

The MB/Dk7 drum pack includes additional microphones for capturing cymbals. The MB 4k cardioid condenser 'overhead' microphones feature a condenser design for studio-quality performance, extended response for smooth, natural sonic characteristics, rugged all-metal construction, an on/ off switch, soft-touch finish for durability and minimal mechanical noise, and battery/ phantom operation. The MB 4k has a frequency response of 80-20,000Hz, sensitivity of -46dB (5.0 mV), and comes with the AT8405a stand clamp, with 5/8"-27 to 3/8"-16 threaded adapter, and an integral, corrosion-resistant gold-plated XLRM-type connector.
