UK - Clear-Com's new product, the CellCom digital wireless intercom system is now in stock with UK distributor Autograph Sales. Originally unveiled at PLASA 2003, where it won a PLASA Award for Product Excellence, CellCom is the first integrated licence-free digital wireless intercom system to have been developed, say Autograph. The system consists of an intelligent base station that interconnects with wired communications, going beyond the typical wireless party-line or even two-channel capability, with one-to-one and group conversations initiated from a beltpack.

Demand for CellCom has been red-hot, with prestigious names like ITV and the National Theatre having now taken delivery. ITV will be using their new acquisitions, including a base station with four beltpacks, at London Studios, located on the South Bank, where popular shows such as Popstars, The X Factor, Parkinson, Panorama and the UEFA Champions League are broadcast.

The National Theatre, also located on London's Southbank, bought three base stations with 40 beltpacks for use around their three venues, famous for producing some of the UK's most creative and exciting live theatre. Other purchases have come from ITV's new Meridian Broadcasting studio complex in Fareham, and Conference Technical Facilities, a technical production company whose projects include HSBC and Shell AGMs and the BAFTA TV awards.

Mike Charman, Autograph Sales' Clear-Com specialist says: "I'm confident that now we have stocks of CellCom, it will unquestionably become the communications package of choice, especially with the ease of wireless licence free technology, cleverly combined with a user friendly interface."
