Trainees, students (ranging from schools to vocational and higher education) from any country specialising in the theatre, films and event technology are invited to submit their designs and works on the subject of Romeo and Juliet. These may be individual or team works focusing on stage design, the theatre stage, costumes, decoration, set design, make-up, lighting concepts, videos or audio installations.
Papers describing the works or designs must be submitted via internet no later than 28 February 2017 to the website at www.weltenbauer.global, which also provides detailed technical information.
A panel will select the ten best works and decide on the winners of the first and second prize who will receive 1,000 euros in prize money. The third-placed award will be a 'people's choice'. The awards ceremony will be held in the Palais am Funkturm on Tuesday, 20 June 2017.
The 10 finalists will be able to exhibit their works on a special display area in Hall 23. On Wednesday, 21 June 2017 they will also have an opportunity to hold a 30-minute paper introducing their works.
Stage|Set|Scenery is offering reduced-rate tickets costing 10 euros for students of all ages.
