UK - White Light and ELP Broadcast & Events (ELP B&E) have announced a strategic partnership.
ELP B&E will continue the full service broadcast and events wet hire business it currently operates. The partnership commences on 6 January 2020 and reverses the position announced in November 2019 of the cessation of ELP B&E at the end of 2019. It will pave the way for the acquisition of ELP’s lighting rental business by WL during 2020.
ELP B&E staff and premises in Manchester will be retained, along with the equipment stock. Additional staff, equipment and operational resources will be added from within the WL organisation, bolstering ELP B&E’s strength and ability to meet client needs. USA - In a joint display with ETC, High End Systems (HES) enjoyed record success at the recent LDI exhibition in Las Vegas. HES showed a variety of new products in the 200+ fixture rig, including the SolaHyBeam 3000, TurboRay and SolaPix automated luminaires.

The company has set up a new marketing department and is moving into new premises in London’s Kings Cross area in January 2020. The new office will house the company’s booking department, ticketing, marketing and music department, as well as central services such as finance and HR.

France - Lighting industry professionals are invited to present their ideas for conference papers for the 2021 programme of Showlight, the quadrennial event taking place on 22-25 May 2021 in Fontainebleau.
Anyone involved in lighting - whether lighting designers, lighting directors, directors of photography, architectural lighting designers or those in associated crafts like programmers and manufacturers - are invited to submit their ideas.
Subjects might include innovative designs; unusual projects, large or small; solving the impossible; the future and the past - where should we be going and what should we have learned; issues that are affecting our industry and how we work. USA - Chauvet Professional was awarded the 2019 LDI Large Booth Design Award. Described by the award organisers as a “welcoming and easily walkable” exhibit that “beautifully integrated” lighting and video, the stand engaged visitors with its visual displays.

USA - Spotrack discussed the new features of the soon-to-be-released Spotrack 2020 edition of the system at the BCT Entertainment stand during the LDI tradeshow in Las Vegas.

USA - At last week’s LDI 2019 tradeshow in Las Vegas, Prolights unveiled a new logo, brand design, and website.
The rebrand marks the beginning of a new era for the Italian lighting manufacturer, which exhibited on a dedicated booth at LDI for the first time.
Prolights’ logo features a prism design and ‘has been reduced to its essential elements, adding the yellow touch which represents the colour of the light’. A dedicated website (prolights.it) was also launched, offering a modern look and intuitive browsing on any platform.

World - Live event staging company All Access has refreshed its visual identity - complete with a new logo and website - to better reflect the products and services it delivers.
The rebrand includes a new logo with 'All Access' in red and black and the company's classic strapline 'All the time' placed underneath.
"Many consider the original logo to be an icon in the industry and symbolic of quality," says the company in a statement. UK - Following a successful trial, NEC Group Arenas (Arena Birmingham and Resorts World Arena) has committed to rolling out mental health First Aid support across a number of their shows.
The Mental Health First Aiders, who are both employees of NEC Group and CBRE, will provide practical mental health reassurance and support on show nights for both audiences and fellow employees. Their help can range from providing a non-judgemental listening ear, to offering a space to relax or signposting to further support.
So far, support has been offered at Ariana Grande at Arena Birmingham and Little Mix at Resorts World Arena, receiving a wealth of positive customer feedback. The NEC Group currently has 20 employees trained as MHFAs, with plans to roll out the initiative further across a number of upcoming shows.

UK - On 5 November, Bristol-based specialist installer Stage Electrics marked 40 years in business with a staff party held at Bristol Zoo.
The company was formed in 1979 by a group of theatre lighting and sound equipment enthusiasts and has since grown from three staff to over 120 whilst amassing an impressive portfolio of sales and installations.
Offering a range of services, including installation, product sales and testing, inspection and maintenance services, Stage Electrics has a sales team of over 20, including a field sales team. Its export business has also seen significant growth in recent years.
“We tailored our service to suit our customers, who all have differing needs,” explains sales director, Anna Western. “Some clients like to see their contact person on a regular basis, while others like to have someone available on the end of the phone.

USA - Prolights will show its latest technologies at the upcoming LDI Show on stand 2953 (Prolights) and 2354/2346 (A.C. Lighting).
Prolights will present an in-booth show involving over 200 lighting fixtures every hour starting at 11:30am. The booth features the time-coded show and interactive demo stations which will allow visitors to have hands-on product demonstrations.

UK - The market value of the UK entertainment technology industry has grown by an estimated 5% in the past 12 months, according to PLASA research.
This puts the industry’s value at £1.36bn in 2018/19, up from £1.30bn in 2017/18. The sectors with the largest growth include architecture, broadcast and corporate events, which are valued at £250m, £220m and £160m respectively.
Only a third of the businesses surveyed expect the industry to grow in 2019/20 however, the main concern being how and when the UK will exit the European Union.
