This collaborative effort is the result of a joint co-operation agreement to establish a framework to heighten the awareness and importance of AV systems integration in the rental and staging environment by harnessing the influence and standing of a major trade show with the world-leading Professional Lighting and Sound Association.
To demonstrate this, PLASA, in conjunction with their publications Lighting&Sound International and Lighting&Sound America, will be organizing the Lighting and Staging Pavilion at ISE 2006. In addition they will be using their influence in the community to attract other leading companies involved in the lighting and staging business.
According to Matthew Griffiths, managing director of PLASA, this co-operation agreement has important positive implications for the future of the European AV Systems Integration event. "The Autumn PLASA event in London is traditionally centered on entertainment & installation technology and draws an impressive global attendance. ISE is stronger on the other end of the spectrum, getting more AV Systems Integration-related exhibitors and a stronger pan-European attendance. With this profile, PLASA really complements ISE. It marks a new day in the relationship between one of the leading trade communities and Europe's biggest AV Systems trade show, particularly in the Events and Rental business for AV companies."
Mike Blackman, managing director of Integrated Systems Europe added that unifying the two organizations in a joint event of this calibre, will benefit all areas of AV and Staging. "I feel this is a highly positive step for both our organizations and the industry as a whole. We, along with our other partners have been working closely with PLASA since the first edition of ISE was held in 2004 and recognize the tremendous role PLASA will play at ISE 2006 and in the future to expand this innovative and emerging market."
