UK - With the opening of the prestigious Westfield Shopping Centre in West London, earlier in 2009 exterior media specialists Ocean Outdoor installed three Lighthouse LED screens nearby on the A3220/A402 Holland Park roundabout. The screens have proved an outstanding success and Ocean has now completed the next phase of the project by providing two more Lighthouse screens for Westfield, this time over the dual carriageway section of the A3220.

Despite being one of the shortest A roads in the UK, the A3220 is also one of the busiest, forming a vital link between Clapham on the south and the A40 at White City. So the overbridge at the northeast corner of the Westfield site was the ideal location for further Lighthouse screens to complement the highly successful installation at the Holland Park roundabout, just to the south.

Two screens have been installed, one facing northbound

UK - Having thoroughly enjoyed their union at the recent PLASA show, Red Square Audio and Gearsource Europe have continued working together to increase their respective market goals.

RSA MD Paul Nicholson explains: "Due to the economic downturn I was looking at ways of making what we believe are already extremely competitively priced products, namely the Tannoy VQ Live and the Innovason Eclipse, even more affordable. It's clear that some rental companies are reluctant to enter into finance schemes when interest rates are virtually at zero, yet lenders are still asking for 10% + APR interest on leasing and hire purchase deals.

So, we decided that one particular route to owning new cutting edge audio products would be to offer a brokerage scheme whereby Gearsource Europe could directly manage a deal to move on a customer's existing or redundant equipment in order to release

It is a designated UNESCO world Heritage Site along with nearby Durham Castle which faces it across Palace Green.

Ashton received an initial brief from Artichoke's Helen Marriage and Nicky Webb about the narrative and direction of the show. Taking these as a creative starting point for the storyboard, he t

UK - Known as The Warren, the Metropolitan Police Sports Club in Bromley is housed in a magnificent late Victorian building set in spacious gardens, where its main function room is expected to serve a number of different roles.

When interior designer Colin Stone (of Stone Me!) was brought in, it was with the task of upgrading a typical 1980's social club interior - by creating an ever-changing environment which it would be equally comfortable hosting formal conferences, banquets and wedding receptions to full-on entertainment for up to 600 people.

"This was a very dated function room which resembled a big top inside," remembers Stone. "The client wanted it to be more contemporary - sufficiently warm for the majority of uses but with elegance and opulence to enable it to host wedding receptions.

"The logical decision was to keep the environment neutral and

Finland - Finnish lighting designer Mikki Kunttu has designed lights, screens and sets for the hit musical Play Me, a new production staged at the Swedish Theatre in Helsinki, based on a virtual reality game intertwined with a talent contest at the Q-Club.

At the core of the lighting rig are 18 Robe ColorSpot 700E ATs, together with some Robe ColorSpot 1200E ATs. It is a compact sized rig for the ambitious visuality and storyline of the show, and as Kunttu puts it, the ColorSpot 700E ATs "really work hard".

The fixtures are hung above the stage in various upstage and downstage positions for optimal stage coverage, with some on the deck. Kunttu utilises most of their features and functions during the all-action show which flips between real and virtual worlds in a rich mix of music, visuals, acrobatics and choreography.

Italy - The Questo piccolo grande amore (This Little Great Love) project by Claudio Baglioni), features a journey through the artist's historical repertoire projected on a 16x6.8 mega-screen and is being recorded for a double live CD.

Lighting designer Mariano de Tassis reports: "The original idea for the lighting design came directly from the artist and was then developed jointly by myself and Fabrizio 'Bicio Marchi, production and designer manager. We needed to interpret this album concept with different colour schemes, paying great attention to the succession of individual scenic moments. The basic input aimed to confer maximum emotion to the characters and elements telling the 'story', with just a glimpse of the silhouettes of the musicians."
