Sarah Clausen, Congo product manager, says, "These new tutorials, which were filmed in our video studio in Middleton, allow us to capture the screens and the movements of an operator's hands on the console. This makes it very clear what's being done by the operator, where the console keys are, and what's happening on the screens all at once. The Chroma-Q fixtures - 18 Studio Force V 12, 3000 - 6100°K CCT variable white and 30 of the Studio Force D 12, 6100°K CCT daylight white - were purchased by ELP's rental manager, John Singer.

In late August, d'light completed technical production of a student festival on the University of Agder campus in Kristiansand. The event, a celebration to mark the beginning of the school year, featured live entertainment with lighting design by Ronnie Tungland who incorporated the newly purchased MAC 350 Entours and 101 LED wash lights along with Martin MAC III Profiles.

The equally flamboyant lighting design for the event - in its 11th glorious year - by Peter Vervloesem - featured all Robe moving lights, which together with other lighting fixtures and equipment and trussing - were supplied by Total-E (Total Event Support) from Paal-Beringen.

PR supplied lighting, audio and staging for the high profile press event staged in the Ballroom of the Northumberland Hotel, just off Trafalgar Square. It was attended by the three surviving members of the band and the world's media.

Integral to the whole ENTER. phenomena - four rooms fusing the principals of music, sake, technology and experience all curated by Hawtin - was a visual and lighting design by Matthias 'Lumpy' Vollrath from biglooks.net, who has worked with the artist (aka Plastikman) since 2008 in cooperation with Rebeca Sanchez from LEDsControl.

Lumpy included four Robe MMX Spots in the lighting rig which were used specifically to throw patterns and effects onto two prominent dance podiums flanking the stage in the main area. They were the main focus on the side of the stage and a substitute for any video projection.

Lighting designer Sean Burke's vision was for a fast-paced lighting show to match Lopez's dance-inspired music and passionate choreography - and it was met by Belarus'-based Ilya Piatrouski of FE Belimlight whose inventory of Clay Paky fixtures stepped up to the challenge.

"Arriving in Minsk, all luminaires needed to be sourced locally, so we were relying on local supplier Belimlight to come up with the goods," explains Burke. "The system was to comprise of Clay Paky units in the majority. Given the quantity of fixtures required for the performance we had a mixture of different types of Alpha profile and spot fixtures. Having not used them many times I was looking forward to seeing what they could do."

Part of the Illuminating York festival, the annual Locos in a different light event from 1 - 3 November gives visitors the opportunity to see locomotives and carriages in the collection from a totally different perspective. This year's lighting competition, in which teams of students experiment with various effects in order to bring the collection to life, will be bigger than ever for 2012 with double the number of nights open to the public.

The initial competition takes place on the 1 November and the entries are judged by professionals during a private event. They will be marked according to four categories; safety and conservation, energy and efficiency, object communicat
