The multi-sensory cultural and gastronomic event was enhanced by one of Nexo's newest line array sound systems
UK - Well-known European beer brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro has brought Italy to London with The House of Peroni residency; a month-long celebration of the very best of Italian culture. The multi-sensory cultural and gastronomic event was enhanced by one of Nexo's newest line array sound systems, the Geo M6, provided by Presentation Design Services.

Staged in The House, an extension of the Old Truman Brewery in London's fashionable Shoreditch district, The House of Peroni 'pop-up' is a festival-type event, created by agency M&C Saatchi PR.

Inspired by the Italian piazza, experiences in The House include a six-course tasting menu by a Michelin-starred chef Accursio Craparo, and a drinks menu designed by an award-winning molecular mixologist. Italian artists Luminarie De Cagna have brought their multi-coloured light installations into the space, and, outside in the garden, there is a private cinema showing iconic Italian films.

For music, and a soundtrack of the authentic sounds of a day in the piazza, PDS installed Nexo Geo M6 line array modules, flown in the lighting truss high above the dining and bar areas. Different-sized clusters of M6 cabinets were deployed; arrays of four modules to target the main hospitality areas, pairs and single cabinets for dining spaces and infill. Together with Nexo LS18 subs, the M6 cabinets were powered by NXAMP TDcontrollers, each NXAMP4x1 capable of driving 16 loudspeakers.

Midlands-based event Production Company PDS is one of the first companies in the UK to invest in Geo M6. Project manager James Johnson cited the compact size of the M6 and M620B units as the main reason for their choice. "We have initially ordered 12 boxes, with 4 LS18 subs, NXAMP 4X1 controllers and a number of PS8 speakers to complement the M6 system on larger events. The Geo M6 system is exceptionally low-profile for its output which is highly relevant to our business, where much of our technical equipment has to be compatible with event and design values.

"We had been looking to invest in a larger more versatile PA system for some time: we originally looked at the PS15 range but Sash Pochibko from Nexo dealership Sound Of Music suggested the M6 system. After we demoed the system, there was no going back, it ticked all the right boxes for us and our requirements."
