Fiona Chiew, deputy general manager for Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co, comments: "We conducted an industry survey last December and the result reviews that the participants expect and recognise the show as an effective means to reach international markets such as Brazil, Germany, India, Korea, Russia and USA, as well as the distributors in China. To strengthen the connection between suppliers and buyers from these markets, we will work closely with key international and local associations to bring together top buyers from these regions."
One of the co-organisers of Prolight+Sound Shanghai, China Audio Industry Association is actively recruiting key audio buyers from China to the show. The association's Secretary Mr LiXin Chen explained, "Over the past 12 years, the show has attracted up-scale overseas brands and suppliers from local key manufacturing hubs such as Enping, Ningbo, Panyu and Shenzhen. Its international profile and quality exceeded similar kinds of trade fairs in China, and this is important for buyers who aim for better and wider sourcing options."
Numerous educational fringe events will also be held at the show to bring in more professional buyers and experts and add value for their visit. One of the industry supporters, Mr Randell Greenlee, Director for International Relations & Communication, the Professional Lighting & Sound Association of Germany (VPLT) believes the show is an important trade platform. Each year VPLT brings industry experts to speak at the show's fringe events. "The Prolight + Sound brand is a world-wide brand. I hope many German companies will join the Shanghai show because we believe this is a very important market to be a part of," Mr Greenlee said.
