Recently cited in the Guinness Book of Records as having the tallest proscenium arch at 11.95m, the venue was in need of some lighting fixtures with a reputation of similar stature. Project lighting designer Poon Limpapun turned to French lantern manufacturers, Robert Juliat.
"The Robert Juliat 700SX range really fits our criteria," explains Limpapun. "With throwing distances from our front electrics bars of over 30m, the 2000W Profiles do their job very well. Overall, I can say that they exceeded our expectations."
The lighting scheme consists of more than 100 Robert Juliat 700SX 2kW and Robert Juliat 600SX 1kW profiles with full accessories, complemented by as many Robert Juliat 1kW High Performance (200mm lens) 310HPC fixtures, providing both general and specific illumination from on-stage and front of house positions. A pair of DMX controlled Robert Juliat Aramis 2500W follow spots are employed as long-throw front of house spots and another pair of Juliat Korrigan 1200W DMX follow spots are used for side spots.
Siam Niramit has been running continuously for three years during which time the lighting team have never experienced any problems with the Robert Juliat equipment. "We have carried out the correct maintenance procedures as recommended by Robert Juliat and we still achieve the same light output as when we first received the fixtures. The build quality is superb and the service from the sales and maintenance team is just great," states Limpapun.
