In conjunction with Green Hippo's exclusive distributor in Benelux, Interlight, technical sales manager Sarah Cox arranged for Tenfeet to trade in their first generation Hippotizer HDs for the latest spec i7 machines. Says Sarah, "Green Hippo offers a very competitive trade in policy to their customers to get new i7 Hippotizer servers for their V3 legacy machines. We want to make sure all our clients have the opportunity to trade in older hardware to the latest specs, so they can produce the best possible projects with the latest available hardware."
At Tenfeet, where the Hippotizers have well proven their value over the last seven years and it was decided to trade in the old machines for the new i7 versions.
Tom van Rijsewijk, moving lights programmer at Tenfeet, comments, "Back in 2007 we first encountered Hippotizers when we worked on the original Dutch Musical Ciske de Rat, a musical show which had a hugely successful opening night at the Royal Theatre Carre in Amsterdam in the presence of her Dutch Majesty Queen Beatrix which toured for almost three full years; making it the most successful touring musical in the Netherlands to date.
"During pre-production we found in Green Hippo and their Hippotizer media servers a reliable and very flexible product and company, which made us decide to invest in more machines." A wide variety of productions quickly followed.
"Top off the bill must be when we got involved in the huge opera production Ring der Nibelungen in both the Teatro a La Scala in Milan and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin."
With the 2014 festival season kicking off right now, Tenfeet are looking at giving their new machine a good workout over the next few months just like its predecessors.
