The arrangement, announced by Mitch Clark, president of Tomcat and Thomas Dory, CEO of Pfaff-silberblau GmbH, will see the two companies working together to develop and deliver new projects utilizing their combined resources and experience. Their collaboration will strengthen sales, technical and design support and enable a significant expansion of the UK stockholding of the specialist products required by the industry, say the companies.
"This deal means faster, more comprehensive service to the UK entertainment sector," said Tony Dickson, general manager of Tomcat UK. "By bringing together our skills and experience, we can offer much more to customers than we can by acting separately," he said.
Although it will no longer market products under the PCM banner, Pfaff will build separately on its 22 years' experience in UK stage and theatre applications, where it leads the field in developing innovative stage-lift solutions using actuators. "Pfaff UK has had a strong presence in the UK entertainment industry since it started, initially under the Pfaff brand, and latterly, using the PCM brand. We will continue to market our extensive selection of 'backstage' equipment, including the UK's most comprehensive range of electric and manual winches, chain hoists, personnel lifts and the Award-winning Unibar lifting system," commented Pfaff MD Paul Kelly.
