Successful installation and rental company Arpege proposed a solution which they felt would provide a versatility and ease of use that the in-house engineers were seeking. For the Arpege team, this venue of 1200 seats presented many intricacies; with 150 events already announced for the coming year, the theatre required a system that would be versatile enough to handle all the different types of events as well as manage the challenging acoustics of the main room.
Faced with these challenges, Arpege opted for a FOH line array system based on Nexo's Geo D and Geo Sub. Each cluster is comprised of six Geo D10s with three Geo Subs on the floor. For side-fills and out-fills, Arpege installed a selection of PS 15s and PS 8s to provide equal coverage within the hall.
The installation is powered by CAMCO V6 amplifiers with NX242 TDcontrollers and their EtherSound cards. The EtherSound cards allow the engineers to have total control over the Geo D installation and provide them an easy-to-use solution, responsive to the different types of events that will be held in the theatre. The PS8s and PS 15s are controlled via their own analogue controllers.
Alexandre Laska of the Casino-Theatre said that: "as far as required SPLs are concerned, this installation is largely sufficient. Since the opening of the newly refurbished hall, we have tested the PA with a number of different kinds of events: concerts, one-man shows, different plays, and cabarets. The production companies, artists and sound engineers that have utilized the installation have all been very satisfied."
