In addition to using a fluorescent UV lamp, the UV Wash is rugged and durable, with a strong aluminium case and a compact design. A 5mm shatter-proof glass cover protects the lamp from breaking. Another advantage of the UV Wash is that its 100W, 120V lamp operates on low amperage, saving energy, yet it still gives full coverage at 25ft, say Elation. Reflective glass mirrors serve to amplify the fixture's brightness and widen its span without drawing any additional power. The lamp itself has a long life expectancy of 1,000 hours.
