The MG Series is a comprehensive line-up of mixing consoles, ranging from compact models ideal for music production and sub-mixing applications, through to versions capable of handling medium scale live events. The third generation MG Series, released earlier this year, offers significant upgrades in sound quality, design, operability and durability, as well as several impressive new functions.
Available now at the Apple App Store for free download, MG Rec & Play enables high-quality recording, as well as fast and easy playback of songs and sound effects, by simply connecting your iPhone or iPad to any MG Series XU model. The intuitive app can be used for a wide range of purposes, including recording songwriting sessions, band rehearsals and live gigs, or providing background music or sound effects for live events or parties.
The audio recorder function allows two track recording from the stereo bus in high-quality WAV format. Sampling rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, and 96 kHz can be selected, while the user-friendly interface is designed to allow visual monitoring of the recording settings and status. It also provides instantaneous playback of recorded tracks.
The audio player function provides users with high quality playback of up to 72 songs or sound effects, arranged as nine banks of eight 'tiles', each of which can be assigned to a song or sound effect from the connected iPhone or iPad's music library. It delivers valuable flexibility to live performance applications requiring background music, triggered backing tracks, musical accompaniment or productions and functions that require the use of sound effects.
