Chromatica is a relatively young but fast-growing company, with founder Makkay Imre setting himself the challenge of bringing the very best audio brands to the eastern European country.
"The company has been established for four years and our aim is to provide superb audio quality and the world's best support to our customers," says Imre . "And with brands like Meyer Sound, Audix, Furman and Avalon already in our inventory, we knew that we needed to be able to supply very high class digital mixing consoles.
"The truth is that it didn't take long to find the best choice," he continues. "We had so much good feedback about DiGiCo consoles from system techs and sound engineers from right across the world, that in a very short time we had approached DiGiCo to become a distributor."
Having initially met the DiGiCo team at Frankfurt ProLight and Sound in 2005, Imre enjoyed further successful meetings with DiGiCo's Volker Rath and James Gordon, which resulted in Chromatica doing a D5 demonstration to its customers in July 2005. "It went really well, people loved the console," says Imre.
Chromatica was officially unveiled as a DiGiCo distributor at this year's Frankfurt show. "We are very pleased that DiGiCo has put their faith in us," Imre continues. "There are so many positive things standing behind the DiGiCo brand. The company's huge experience in making digital desks has resulted in the most useful console design on earth."
The company's actions have backed up its words, with audio hire company Expander 2000 having already invested in a D1 DR system. "Expander 2000 plays a major role in all the Hungarian summer festivals," adds Imre . "And their huge PAs will be in the best possible hands with the greatest digital consoles on the planet!"
