UK - Here's a rather unusual application for lighting more usually seen on a film set or in a TV studio. Land Rover and Jaguar, the two UK-based manufacturers, have opted for ARRI lighting for their respective vehicle safety component test facilities.

Both are part of Ford Motor Company's Premier Automotive Group, which allows them to work together on some purchasing activities. Land Rover, which tests components externally at its Gaydon site in the Midlands has just taken its first shipment of ARRI 2.5K Compacts, which it plans to follow up with ARRI 1.2Ks. One of the benefits of these lights in this respect is their lack of heat and the fact that they are flicker free.
