UK - LED lighting manufacturer, MHA Lighting has announced a new partnership with Jersey-based, LED Lighting Technology, who in 2004 brought LED Lighting to the Channel Islands for the first time.

This new partnership, which sees MHA granting LED Lighting Technology an agreement to distribute MHA's waveguide products throughout the Channel Islands, was formed in response to the rapidly-growing demand for companies to make the switch to energy-efficient LED lighting of high quality and reliability.

LED Lighting Technology's managing director, Paul Couser, says, "As a company at the forefront of this new and pioneering lighting technology, we are constantly looking to partner with the very best major UK manufacturers, to ensure we deliver our customers ultimate quality, reliability and value for money.

"We selected MHA Lighting because of their excellent reputation i

UK - PLASA 2012 saw a successful final chapter of the show's history at Earls Court, with high quality visitor attendance, a hugely popular Professional Development Programme and a vibrant out-of-hours social schedule - a fitting end to an era before the show begins anew at ExCel London in 2013.

Although the show attracted fewer visitors than last year, following a quiet - and gloriously sunny - Sunday, numbers picked up again for Monday and Tuesday, and after an unusually busy final day the overall visitor attendance reached 11, 500 (subject to ABC audit). Despite anecdotal reports of reduced international turnout, the overseas attendance was in fact a robust 25% of the total footfall, compared with 26% in 2011. The overall response from exhibitors, however, was vintage PLASA - excellent quality visitors and good levels of business - plus a strong sense of the buzz returning to

UK - At PLASA 2012, Spotlight promoted a comprehensive LED range. The company wanted to present in London the latest products of the new Green Line family specifically projected for performing arts and TV studios.

With the three new FresneLED 250 White Tunable, ProfiLED 200 and ProfiLED 250 RGBW - Spotlight LED range attracted an audience as probably the most complete LED products line of the highest quality and efficiency today available on the market.

The luminaires of this wide range are characterised by excellent performances, energy saving, clean light without heat and UV/IR emission.

ProfiLED 250W RGBW, optical discharge profile spot, was the real highlight of the event, showing a light power equal to the one of a traditional halogen 2000W and with an extreme precision of the projection.

ProfiLED 250W RGBW impressed because it is innovative, versatile and interesting

UK - First the champagne flowed at the Martin Professional stand at Earl's Court in London in celebration of the company's 25th Anniversary, then it flowed again a short time later when the MAC Viper Profile won a PLASA Award for Innovation, in which it was pronounced "a new benchmark for automated lighting spots." And all that before the real party got started at a special VIP event held at live music venue Under the Bridge.

PLASA 2012 proved a resounding success on all levels for Martin, not only for the MAC Viper Profile accolade but also due to a crowded stand and high level of interest in Martin's other featured products like the MAC III AirFX, MAC III Wash and VC series of creative LED video.

"We reached all of our goals at PLASA and then some, and managed to have a lot of fun in the process," stated Martin UK sales director Mike Walker. "The res

Strips can be cut to length with scissors and fixed in place using the pre-fitted, high bonding adhesive foam tape backing.

Suitablefor a wide range of industrial and sign-making applications, Flexistrip LED strips benefit from in-built electrostatic and reverse-polarity protection and an extra-thick copper substrate for enhanced reliability and longevity. Positive and negative connections to a low voltage supply power the strips, and a simple two

The Martin M1 used at Global Gathering was provided by Electric Fly Productions as were two Martin Maxedia media servers that were used on site.

UK - Anolis ArcPad Xtreme fixtures have been installed in a permanent lighting scheme to illuminate the front façade of London's Shell Centre, a landmark building along the Jubilee Gardens stretch of the city's South Bank, and a distinctive backdrop to the London Eye.

The lighting scheme is part of a longer term regeneration plan for the Jubilee Gardens area which is immediately in front of the 107m high Shell Centre, backed by a consortium of investors.

A sustainable lighting design was submitted by Farhad Rahim, senior lighting designer from the BDSP Partnership, to Shell and Frosts Landscape Construction, main landscaping contractor for the Jubilee Gardens regeneration project.

Denmark - The Aarhus University School of Engineering in Denmark recently moved to the city district of Katrinebjerg, the centre of information technology in Aarhus, and sought to announce its new domicile by dynamically illuminating panes of laminated glass on the building's façade.

Using Martin Professional LED strip lights to backlight 24 panes of glass that operate as sun shades, the building - designed by architectural firm CF M°ller A/S - now radiates in a wash of eye-catching colour that has announced the Engineering School's arrival as a dynamic, new member of the neighbourhood.

The glass panes consist of two layers of 6mm tempered glass with yellow foil between. The panes, 40cm wide x 8m long and divided into four sections, are illuminated from the back by the IP67-rated RGB strip lights, thereby making the foil 'glow'.
